HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS
The brighter the better. Choose bright colors and flame-retardant materials. Attach reflective tape to costumes.
Skip the masks. Use kid-friendly makeup instead.
Limit accessories. Pointed props may pose safety hazards.
Children should carry flashlights.
Costumes should be short enough to prevent children from tripping and falling.
Children should wear well-fitting, sturdy shoes.
Children should not enter homes or apartments unless they are accompanied by an adult.
People expecting trick-or-treaters should remove anything that could be an obstacle from lawns and porches.
HALLOWEEN PET TIPS
Get an ID tag. Agitated critters often slip through doors opened for trick-or-treaters.
Give indoor pets some room. We mean shut them in a room away from all the candy-grabbing action.
Bring outdoor pets inside. Keep them safe by at least hiding them in a safe haven like the garage or laundry room, or a quiet room in the house.
No candy for critters. Treats can ruin animals' teeth, upset their stomachs and even kill them. Chocolate has chemicals that make it especially toxic. Just one square of chocolate candy can kill a small dog. Have a safe & Happy Halloween!
