My father died of pancreatic cancer when I was seven months pregnant with his first grandchild. My grieving heart needed to do something in my dad’s memory so I started volunteering and fundraising. Being a part of the fight against cancer inspired me so much that I changed careers. Working for the American Cancer Society fuels my passion and it’s an honor to work with volunteers to create a special event like Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Seeing our community come together at the walk, celebrating the survivors, and meeting new people each year is why I love what I do. I’m proud to be a part of the movement to end breast cancer.
