BREVARD: List of Local 4th of July Events!

July 2: Smoke on the Water & Fire in the Sky at Port Canaveral with fireworks at 9 p.m. at the Cove at Port Canaveral, 670 Dave Nisbet Drive. 

July 3: Smoke on the Water & Fire in the Sky will continue over the ocean at Sidney Fischer Park, 2200 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach. Fireworks begin 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. Lori Wilson Park also will be open for parking and viewing. 

July 3: Merritt Island third annual Independence Day Parade at 9 a.m. The free event is hosted by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office charity and Veteran's Memorial Center. Line the streets of State Road 520 near the Merritt Square Mall.

July 3: Suntree United Methodist Church Suntree Stars & Stripes, a free celebration at 5 p.m. on the church grounds, 7400 N. Wickham Road. Attendees will enjoy a free dinner of hot dogs, chips, lemonade and ice cream while listening to a concert of patriotic favorites by the Sunshine Brass Quintet. At 6 p.m., Melbourne Municipal Band will also perform.

July 4: Mindy from Lite Rock to host OUR FREE Brevard Symphony Orchestra concert Symphony Under the Stars concert at 8 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Cocoa. Fireworks follow at 9:15 p.m. The park will open early with food available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. VIP experience with the BSO “Red Hot & Boomin’ Supper” before the concert. July 4: Downtown Melbourne. “Firecracker 5K,” “a run/walk starts 6:45am from Front St. in Melbourne. The event includes giveaways, plus red, white and blue popsicles for all finishers, and free beer to those 21 and older. Registration is $30. Sign up at runningzone.com American Legion Post 163 will host a parade in downtown Melbourne at 10 a.m.. The City of Melbourne Fireworks start at 9 p.m. at Front Street Park. 321-608-7420. 

July 4: Viera’s Great American Celebration takes place at 9 p.m. on at the USSSA Space Coast Complex, 6091 Stadium Parkway.

July 4: Rockledge annual Independence Day Picnic for the 34th year from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m at McLarty Park, 790 Barton Blvd. Enjoy a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink for a $1. Fun activities, games, music and more.

July 4: God and country celebration in Wickham Park. Melbourne’s Jesus is the Key Church will host a patriotic “Lifting Up God & Country” event to honor God and military forces from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Wickham Park amphitheater. The free event features a parade of state flags, jump castles, raffles, hot dogs, ice cream and soft drinks. Visit jitk.org.
